3rd Coast is a Chicago-based firm specializing in digital consulting services. They were looking for a brand that reflected their services, location and to denote the professionalism that they display in their work. After pursuing a couple different routes as shown in concepts 2 and 3 above, the final logo we set upon is an abstract wave, constructed from the white space left by reversing a number 3 out of the top of the spherical shape. Overlaid into this wave is the gradated blue of water on a clear day, and a series of horizontal lines to suggest the metrics and measurements which they use in their consulting services.
