The success of any complex design project depends on creative thinking, thoughtful strategic planning, and expedient execution. This is where UI/UX comes in, and this is what we employ when starting any website or app project.
UI = User Interface
Planning and design of the visuals, presentation and interactivity of a site or app.
UX = User Experience
Determining the most effective design to make sure your users have a pleasant experience while using your site or app.
UI/UX consists of 3 main phases
Organization
Planning the flow of your site is the first step to a positive user experience. Your site content needs to be organized into sections and subsections that make sense to your audience. A visual site plan is useful in making this process easy to manage - all the sections are laid out on front of you like cards on a table.
Wireframes
The term wireframe refers to a visual site layout using only boxes, lines and tags – the step prior to designing. This way decisions are focused on the user journey, not on design concerns. The point of wireframes is to plan the placement of all page content with the goal of leading the user to completing the desired action per page - be it filling out a form, picking up the phone, a donation, or any other goal for your site.
Design/Build
Final step is to design and build the site. The siteplan is used to build out the structure and the wireframes are used as building blocks for each page. The brand assets, text, images, videos and other media are then applied per page to help support the user journey and lead the users to complete the desired action per page.
Our Process
A website project is a journey that starts by identifying a few key items – your goal, your audience, your assets, and your brand vision. Our onboarding process helps organize these details so together we can walk a direct line from planning to building to publishing to management.
