07 Jan Starting a New Website – The First Dialogue
“Our website is terrible! We need to look into starting a new website!” These are the words spoken by business owners who realize their potential for e-commerce & web traffic income. The following dialogue highlights a new client.
This is the first in a series of articles recording the exchange between Andiamo Creative and Robot City Workshop. As with any new relationship introductions are in order.
Robot City Workshop is a small, mom and pop shop dedicated to all things robots! It is an outlet of education and entertainment for all ages. Here hobbyists can find small parts for their personal projects, kids can celebrate their robot themed birthday parties, adults can enjoy a special after hours event called Robot Date Night; plus, any & all ages can sign up for a workshop to get a hands on experience for building, soldering or even programming! RCW also runs an awesome after school program in nearly 30 classrooms throughout Chicago & the greater area. However the RCW website requires a tune-up.
The staff have always had problems with not only the look of the current website but also the navigation & lack of clarity & online purpose. They have found their design repair with Andiamo Creative.
A member of RCW staff (yours truly) opened the dialogue. I approached Rochelle, “I know that our website is ugly and that it needs a focused presence. How do we start the process of getting a better website?” Next, Rochelle sends out the creative brief. “Sweet. Now I need to bring this to the team’s attention and get this filled out.”
Time was arranged to meet & discuss the creative brief. Here the staff hashed out objectives, goals, strategies, chose some choice keywords that best described the site and smoothed out the overall message. “Creative brief done.” We were ready for the next creative step.
Alas, that dialogue will have to wait.
Until then, stay creative and enjoy the holidays. And look for the new website for Robot City Workshop launching early 2014!
